We have recently become aware of fraudulent websites and other fraudulent activities which use the VinFast name, brand and images to deceive customers, collect personal information, and gain financial advantage. Some tactics used include impersonating employees, senior managers, or shareholders of VinFast to solicit investments in VinFast Investment Funds, Capital Mobilization Funds, or Welfare Funds; scams related to recruitment at VinFast; or scams requiring an upfront payment through fraudulent websites.
To protect yourself from these scams, please read the following information carefully.
1. Learn how to identify a fraudulent website or scam.
-
Check the URL:
Official VinFast Websites are:
-
Fraudulent websites often start with “http” instead of “https” (the “s” stands for “secure”) and do not display a padlock icon in the address bar.
-
Fraudulent websites can be poorly designed, look unprofessional, contain spelling or grammar mistakes, or have broken links.
-
The website has pop-ups or alerts that offer you a free prize or warn you about security problems or viruses on your device. These types of pop-ups and alerts are usually fraudulent advertisements designed to trick you into downloading malware or damaging software.
-
There is no contact information listed on the website, or the website has incorrect contact information.
-
VinFast will never ask you to pay for services or products in the form of cryptocurrency like Bitcoin.
-
Be skeptical of “urgent” situations asking you for payment or personal information; this is often indicative of a scam.
-
Be weary of unsolicited or suspicious phone calls. Scammers use fake Called ID information to spoof phone numbers of companies like VinFast and may either ask you for money or personal information, or claim there has been suspicious activity on your account or device to get your attention.
-
Use reliable resources to stay informed about how to identify a fake website or scam, such as information available through the Better Business Bureau.
2. Do not provide personal information.
-
Do not share personal information, bank account details, passwords, or any other personal details on unverified websites or with unverified sources.
-
VinFast will never contact customers via email, SMS, or other methods to request usernames, passwords, or bank account details.
3. Do not share your passwords with anyone, and change your passwords frequently.
4. Do not click on suspicious links and do not download any unverified software or content. These can contain unwanted, fake, or malicious software that could become intrusive, could cause damage to your device, or steal your data.
5. Report suspicious websites or potential scams.
