Hanoi, September 21, 2022 – VinFast announced its participation in The Climate Pledge – a commitment to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism. As the first Vietnamese enterprise to sign The Pledge, VinFast affirms its determination to contribute to sustainable development.

The Climate Pledge is a commitment for companies, businesses, and organizations to take collective action on the world’s greatest crisis, and to work together to build a safe and healthy planet for future generations. Currently, more than 375 have joined the commitment worldwide.

Joining The Climate Pledge, VinFast and businesses pledged to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, 10 years earlier than the Paris Agreement (agreed at the UN Climate Change Conference 2015).

VinFast will strictly measure and report greenhouse gas emissions regularly; implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon emission elimination strategies; neutralize any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.

This commitment will be a platform for positive activities, and important changes and demonstrate VinFast's commitment to the environment. It is also an opportunity for us to engage in discussion on important global issues, motivating individuals and communities to continue their efforts for a greener and more sustainable future.”
